David Koma held his Fall 2018 in a church. If that’s not epic I don’t know what is. The silhouettes depicted strong women and what a time in fashion to perfect the usual 60’s look Kona is known for.


Koma was excited to highlight the evolution of his outerwear. "We worked so hard on the coats this season," he said, referring to the butter-soft black leather Perfectos and trenchcoats with shearling panels that appeared at the start of the show. "To me, these pieces are what I have in mind when I envision a strong, modern woman of today," he said, adding, "I often ask my female friends whether they enjoy wearing my pieces, and when they do, it fills me with happiness." God is good!

I was not into the show’s title, Indian Summer! I and others think this was an awful title choice! And worst yet Zuhair didn’t hire any Native American artisans to help bring his vision to life. At least that would’ve lent some authenticity to the display and help us to swallow the title. In saying that, the  collection was still beautiful.


On the strength, there were enough stunning looks among the mix for clients forget the Indian Summer theme should they be concerned about people’s reactions...well maybe

Tom Ford’s Fall 2018 pieces were somewhere between precise tailoring, meaning super lean, glossy, very grown up, but equally sporty. So shiny, so captivating. There were pin-striped flannel suits, snakeskin-print jean, shimmering rose gold metallic tuxedos and the crowd’s favourite the overstuffed black down parkas. Absolutely every piece a man needs in 2018 and beyond.


Ford’s vision of masculinity is clear. It is pleasure and filled with colour. He doesn’t seem to have himself in mind as his wardrobe is purely black, but I love that he shocked us by taking himself away from the looks he created this season.
