Kirsten looks more like the Bella we imagined - See W Mag (Sept issue)

Stewart is reminiscence of a '60s cover model! On the cover of W‘s September issue, photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and styled by ever-fabulous Edward Enninful, Kirsten looks GORGE-ous.

She normally looks tomboyish, here she is pure smoky, sexy glamour wearing Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Junya Watanabe. Check out the pix and highlights from Stewart’s interview with Lynn Hirschberg in which she talks about how her big break involved singing a song about a dreidl, says she’s still insecure about her “tomboy” quality, and opens up about saying goodbye to Bella Swan.

Gorgeous 10-year-old French Model is the Next Big Thing, or is it just creepy??

Whether in fashion or NOT you’ve all seen the notorious photos of 10-year-old-model Thylane Loubry Blondeau in French Vogue!
This girl has a larger-than-life beauty and an impressive modeling portfolio that is far beyond her ten years. According to Facebook, Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau is from the Ivory coast and was born in 2001. She’s not only adorable, but stunning, with a face that resembles Brigitte Bardot! Most models start at 13yrs old..what’s the issue?
Judging by the sheer number of photographs of her on the internet, she must be booking modeling jobs left and right. However, we have to call out a few of them that seem just a smidge mature for the pre-teen. For example, in a few of them she’s reclining seductively in stilettos and evening gowns and more makeup and jewelry than anyone under the age of 30 should be wearing. In the above photo, she is inexplicably holding bunny rabbits. But most of the photos are pretty normal and age-appropriate.
Blondeau already has a significant internet following. F©ÜЖ Yeah Thylane Blondeau is a Tumblr dedicated to her that already boasts an impressive number of editorial shots from the model’s portfolio, including a Vogue Enfants cover. There’s also a Facebook fan page, a disturbing number of those YouTube montage videos and several posts dedicated to her on the blogosphere.
However you feel about Blondeau as a model now, we expect to see her face for many years to come in the fashion world.

Project Naked..I mean Project Runway.Klum goes nude to bring in high ratings!

Get excited! Project Runway host Heidi Klum will appear naked in ads for the series’ ninth season, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The campaign is part of Lifetime‘s new marketing strategy–the basic cable channel is aiming to go less “woman in peril” (even though LTMs are ahhhmazing) and more “brazen, strong, confident and sexy.”
Of course, it’s not the first time Klum has posed nude. And we’re not exactly sure how effective her being nekkid on adverts for a show about making clothes will be. But we guess sex sells?

Image of the Day: There Is Only One Kate In London

Why would we blog about Kate Middleton when we're so in love with Kate Moss?
This is some internet meme floating around across the pond that was too good not to post. It’s an old ad Kate Moss did for Agent Provocateur Bridal a few years back. This is beyond HIL-arious.

Galliano...no good?!

Miss Dior Cherie fragrance campaign girl, Oscar winner, Israeli-born Natalie Portman has issued a statement regarding Galliano’s anti-Semitic rant caught on video, the New York Times is reporting:

“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”

There are other reports that Portman had planned to wear Dior for the Oscars and swapped it for Rodarte last minute after hearing of Galliano’s arrest and the initial claim of verbal assault and Antisemitism filed against him. The consensus is that we doubt this is true for several reasons: firstly, Portman was photographed the day after the Oscars (Galliano was arrested the morning of the Oscars) carrying a Dior bag; second, Portman’s Rodarte gown was custom made and Portman went out of her way to thank the Mulleavy sisters during her Oscar speech–it seems unlikely it was a last minute switch; and thirdly, according to Portman’s own statement, it was Galliano’s shockingly offensive anti-Semitic rant caught on video and released yesterday (which then went viral)–not his initial arrest on claims of Antisemitism and verbal abuse–that caused Portman to speak out.
Portman’s contract with Dior will NOT be affected, unfortunately we cannot say the same for Galliano!

10 things my BFF learnt @ NY Fashion Week

1. Strippers are the new new thing. From go go girls at Rag & Bone‘s after party to casino hostesses at Karen Walker, topless dancers haven’t been this big since Striptease.
2. If you are under 21, you can still DJ an over-21 party. Thanks for the lesson in NY State law, Tavi.
3. Celebrity bloggers are becoming real celebrities. Rumi Neely and Jane Aldridge are reportedly in talks to become Chanel ambassadors. Take that, haters. Bloggers are the new socialites.
4. Ally Hilfiger (Tommy's daughter)is for real. Her collection, Nahm, was well-received.
5. Patricia Field's Raunchy Ball was the BEST (we ♥ disco). Actually Patricia is the best!
6. Mac & Milk is cool, but so is showing off site. Especially when even the most important buyers aren’t being let into the building due to overcrowding.
7. Who Knew Heart Truth would spawn a trend? We love the red dresses that were EVERYWHERE this season.
8. Those blond girls? They’re the Clarins sisters.
9.You gotta have a gimmick. At least when it comes to runway theatricals. (See Band of Outsiders, Jen Kao, and Elise Øverland for examples.)
10. Trend Colour - RED (btw can't wait for the movie RED RIDING HOOD)

More Sex & The City...ok it's just The Carrie Diaries

Hollywood Big-Wigs are in talks to produce Candace Bushnell’s The Carrie Diaries, which chronicles Carrie Bradshaw’s pre-”City” life. The new, young, Carrie? Grazia is reporting that Blake Lively is set to star in the prequel.

RUMOUR ALERT!!!!!!!Blake Lively as the new Carrie Bradshaw is perfection. She has a genuine love for Louboutins and Chanel, wears attention grabbing cleavage-bearing skin tight mini dresses without coming off as trashy, and her blond mane has been dubbed the new “Rachel”. All my SATC fans will be esctatic to have Blake Lively wear her red soles and give SJP Manolos a break! xx TH

CROWN ATELIER prefers Pocket Squares..

The brand CROWN ATELIER although solely known as a womenswear line has just been commissioned to duplicate some inherited pocket squares. How dapper! They've sold over 300 colourful summer handkerchieves to Browns Focus. I wonder if this trend will crossover to womenswear. At the very least they are a potentially more environment-conscious choice, as cloth handkerchiefs are reusable! xoxo, O.Okosa

MTV kills Conrad's reality show!

MTV, the network that made Lauren Conrad a star, has confirmed they will not air her new reality show, which focused on her forthcoming contemporary line, Paper Crown.“We decided not to go ahead with the show,” David Janollari, Head of Programming for MTV, told EW.com. “It was a great attempt but it just didn’t feel like a perfect fit for us now.”

It came as a shock to Conrad, who mentioned the show in her Teen Vogue cover story a few months ago, saying it was inspired by The September Issue. This was a very ambitious attempt!!! It seems that MTV wanted more of the Hills. They felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered her the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of her personal life.

While it makes sense that Conrad would want to graduate from a Hills-style “reality” show, the Hills made Conrad successful, in part, by letting viewers get to know her and peek in on her personal life and drama. So if Conrad’s new show focused only on Paper Crown, a line she said is all about, “really great fits, fabrics, and details…nothing that’s trying too hard,” and nothing about Conrad, we can understand MTV’s reluctance to pick it up. Of course, it’s also understandable that Conrad is pissed about MTV’s decision. Without the publicity Paper Crown would have received from the show, the fate of Conrad’s new line is uncertain. Or is it???

Black Swan: deathly beautiful, fashion forward - I ♥ TuTus + Ballet!

I was a bit late in watching the much anticipated masterpiece, Black Swan, due to being in the Cayman Islands throughout the holidays. In the fashion world, this movie is a must-see and had to do with the fact that Rodarte has designed the ballet costumes. Impeccable! As it goes, the Mulleavy sisters created 40 costumes for the Darren Aronofsky thriller, including outfitting the entire ballet track.

Rodarte is the name on everyone's mind especially now with the triumph of the film; the costumes are so "deathly beautifully". From Portman’s spider web rehearsal knits to a white column dress encrusted with jewels that she wears to a ballet benefit, fashion lovers will appreciate the sister's touch. Outsiders will appreciate their ability to create purity in fashion. Aronofsky used the costumes as Portman's, character is insecure, shy, paranoid, and virginal usually wears white, grey, or pink. While Mila Kunis, whose character is loose and wild, wears plenty of black. As does Portman’s mother, played by Barbara Hershey. It’s when Portman and Hershey are in scenes together that the costumes convey the most to the audience.
As for the film? I’m not a movie critic, but this psychological melodrama is entertaining, scary, creepy, strange, and funny all at once. Portman is good. Really, really good. Her ballerina is empathetic yet frightening. This film makes you believe that she might be the most important actress of her generation.

I overheard the conversation of two fashion big-wigs as they discussed awards season being in full swing. Apparently, Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s names will not be in the nominations for the Best Costume Design category as Amy Westcott has “front credit” as costume designer for the film while they've only received a backend credit.A la Edith Head winning the Oscar for Sabrina when Givenchy outfitted Hepburn for the film.

In the case of Rodarte for Black Swan, some say that the Mulleavy’s were “naive about movies,” meaning they didn’t negotiate credits in their initial deal, and weren’t members of the the Costume Design Guild when they worked on the film (they are now). Fox Searchlight reportedly wanted to submit Westcott and the Mulleavy sisters for Oscar consideration, but guild rules dictate that only the front credit designer is eligible.

This will not happen twice, the word is that the sisters are repped by William Morris and seeking movie projects outside of producing the chic Rodarte line–and this time they want their names up front! XOXO TH+WH

Purple Reign..Gossip Girl's Blake Lively brings Spring!

Top 10 Trend: Marchesa's purple stencil dress as seen on Blake Lively at the 63rd National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Gala at Cipriani on January 11th was the beginning of Spring.

And we'll certainly see this lively girl out during the Award season. She chose one of her signature labels, Marchesa and not Chanel, which is a major surprise since she is the face of Karl Lagerfeld's new Mademoiselle handbag collection. I'm sure she'll make up for this by wearing Chanel to the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. Both Blake and dress are rather exquisite(pic attached). Her loose imperfect hair completes a perfect look for Spring 2011! NB. She does NOT have a stylist♥..very rare.

New celebrity fragrance?! Do we really need another … Rihanna says yes!.

Fragrance 2011:Perfume Counter Near You is Rihanna's fragrance.Phew or Mmmmm?!

Rihanna’s Reb’l Fleur:fragrance launches January 25, and you can expect it to be accompanied by a very loud advertising campaign. She’ll be on billboards everywhere, including Times Square in NYC. A 30-second video will be launched online with hopes it will go viral (well .. this is now main marketing strategy?!) The video will also be made into a commercial that will be shown in 1,900 movie theaters.

The fragrance name refers to Rihanna’s nickname given to her by her grandmother in Barbados. It’s a strong scent with fruit notes, hibiscus, violet, coconut water, vanilla, patchouli, amber, and musk. Rihanna said it will be “like high heels with a short, flirty dress.” Prices will range from $30-$59

London at any time of year is lovely and visiting in January and February calls for major style! After-all London Fashion Week is in preparation etc! The rule is that when dressing for cold weather, you just layer in Europe and instantly you’re chic. The team's advice is that you bring plenty of relaxed clothes and accessories without over-stuffing your suitcase. Let’s pack?! I look to do the small things first.
1. camera
2. plump scarf
3. leather gloves
4. some sort of hat
5. Man-purse even though you’re a girl! This will secure your belongings
