10 things my BFF learnt @ NY Fashion Week

1. Strippers are the new new thing. From go go girls at Rag & Bone‘s after party to casino hostesses at Karen Walker, topless dancers haven’t been this big since Striptease.
2. If you are under 21, you can still DJ an over-21 party. Thanks for the lesson in NY State law, Tavi.
3. Celebrity bloggers are becoming real celebrities. Rumi Neely and Jane Aldridge are reportedly in talks to become Chanel ambassadors. Take that, haters. Bloggers are the new socialites.
4. Ally Hilfiger (Tommy's daughter)is for real. Her collection, Nahm, was well-received.
5. Patricia Field's Raunchy Ball was the BEST (we ♥ disco). Actually Patricia is the best!
6. Mac & Milk is cool, but so is showing off site. Especially when even the most important buyers aren’t being let into the building due to overcrowding.
7. Who Knew Heart Truth would spawn a trend? We love the red dresses that were EVERYWHERE this season.
8. Those blond girls? They’re the Clarins sisters.
9.You gotta have a gimmick. At least when it comes to runway theatricals. (See Band of Outsiders, Jen Kao, and Elise Ă˜verland for examples.)
10. Trend Colour - RED (btw can't wait for the movie RED RIDING HOOD)

More Sex & The City...ok it's just The Carrie Diaries

Hollywood Big-Wigs are in talks to produce Candace Bushnell’s The Carrie Diaries, which chronicles Carrie Bradshaw’s pre-”City” life. The new, young, Carrie? Grazia is reporting that Blake Lively is set to star in the prequel.

RUMOUR ALERT!!!!!!!Blake Lively as the new Carrie Bradshaw is perfection. She has a genuine love for Louboutins and Chanel, wears attention grabbing cleavage-bearing skin tight mini dresses without coming off as trashy, and her blond mane has been dubbed the new “Rachel”. All my SATC fans will be esctatic to have Blake Lively wear her red soles and give SJP Manolos a break! xx TH

CROWN ATELIER prefers Pocket Squares..

The brand CROWN ATELIER although solely known as a womenswear line has just been commissioned to duplicate some inherited pocket squares. How dapper! They've sold over 300 colourful summer handkerchieves to Browns Focus. I wonder if this trend will crossover to womenswear. At the very least they are a potentially more environment-conscious choice, as cloth handkerchiefs are reusable! xoxo, O.Okosa

MTV kills Conrad's reality show!

MTV, the network that made Lauren Conrad a star, has confirmed they will not air her new reality show, which focused on her forthcoming contemporary line, Paper Crown.“We decided not to go ahead with the show,” David Janollari, Head of Programming for MTV, told EW.com. “It was a great attempt but it just didn’t feel like a perfect fit for us now.”

It came as a shock to Conrad, who mentioned the show in her Teen Vogue cover story a few months ago, saying it was inspired by The September Issue. This was a very ambitious attempt!!! It seems that MTV wanted more of the Hills. They felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered her the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of her personal life.

While it makes sense that Conrad would want to graduate from a Hills-style “reality” show, the Hills made Conrad successful, in part, by letting viewers get to know her and peek in on her personal life and drama. So if Conrad’s new show focused only on Paper Crown, a line she said is all about, “really great fits, fabrics, and details…nothing that’s trying too hard,” and nothing about Conrad, we can understand MTV’s reluctance to pick it up. Of course, it’s also understandable that Conrad is pissed about MTV’s decision. Without the publicity Paper Crown would have received from the show, the fate of Conrad’s new line is uncertain. Or is it???
