Public School takes us to class

The launch party for Public School’s new collab with eyewear brand Oliver Peoples was the business! (Giggle) The crowd was still talking about the casting at the label’s presentation. Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow had enlisted the help of a few friends, like Nick Wooster and Waris Ahluwalia, to sport their newest threads in a police lineup setting. “Anyone we saw on the street that we liked, we just put them in the show,” Osborne told “We saw this cool guy, Nick Wooster, we just met on the street and threw him in there,” he said facetiously. (Wooster, of course, is well known for his eccentric street style.) After the cocktail party, the Public Schoolers were heading to the Gilded Lily to host another event for their label. “We are having an after-party for the after-party,” said Chow. “I got the bug to deejay and it’s going to be the debut of our new group called The Extortionists. So, you know, I’m just taking it easy.”
Uptown, Thom Browne supporters gathered at Bergdorf Goodman’s men’s store to toast the designer. Between Moncler and his eponymous brand, Browne has put on three major fashion shows since mid-June. “It’s been a long few weeks,” he said, “but I really wanted to be a part of this new men’s week and thought we had something to say. Tomorrow I need to get started on our women’s show for September.”
