Alexandre Vauthier | Spring 2016 Couture






My obsession with black never fails and so the repetition in this collection wasn’t a matter of being spoiled for choice; it was the designer's way of reiterating the exact construction of a piece that, more than any gala gown, should top a woman’s couture wish list. The corresponding sleeve variations—long, short, and sans—addressed tailoring subtleties not noticeable to an amateur eye.

Galliano didn't tackle any fresh challenges for his work with Maison Margiela. He continues to be fascinated with many of the same muses and themes. Yes, he's now the designer of a past age. Can he evolve? Will he even want to? I love that we saw decades of fashionable silhouettes. I love Galliano. Regardless! TH

e l i z a b e t h & j a m e s Pre-fall 2016


I admit I am a huge fan of Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen’s contemporary label, Elizabeth and James. I love The Row as well. Yes. I do. My peers do bot understand my fixation with these girls! Ha! 

I just really connect with the fact that they have their own distinct personal style. The looser silhouettes, cozy textures, and casual-meets-luxe attitude. You know it when you see it. I live for that. The collection this time around is versatile, lots of mix-and-match pieces. Pants, were key: see the slouchy wide-leg pants already declared to be the pant shape of 2016!
