This is the second buy-now-wear-now show that Ralph Lauren has orchestrated. The setting was floral; orchids and lush greenery everywhere at the Madison Avenue location.  Spring was sprung.

The safari influence as always shined through in the accessories, specifically the oversize cheetah-print satchels and sleek python wedges. Love.

I was not on board when Ralph dressed Melania Trump for Inauguration Day, but as he also suited the former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, for the very same occasion, I was A-ok with it. Of note is that he  is an ardent supporter of Clinton and he created all the key looks in her campaign .

His brand forever represents the individual with a high-profile, who has the most glamorous, down to earth wardrobe. Totally American.

What's in your kit, Tigerlily?

It's a part of my job to have a solution for every wardrobe malfunction under the sun. I'm never without the following:

  1. Sewing kit - it includes two scissors that cuts fabric as well as paper. A key element of styling is to know how to do basic sewing as this can come in very handy. It has served me well on location shoots where a tailor wasn't available.
  2. Instax Fujifilm Mini Camera - photograph my clients so they can see exactly what I'm seeing. This, my iPhone and I'm my client's residence photographer as well. My instax was a gift, but they're everywhere even at airports.
  3. Calvin Klein or Commando undies - these are tried and tested seamless undies; the most minimal underwear there is.
  4. Spanx - smooths any visible bulges and  lines, it really is the best aid for dresses.
  5. Stick-ons - I'm always an advocate for being braless, however for my clients attending an event or involved in a photoshoot it is highly necessary to use these. Braless can be distracting for an outfit. Stick-ons work.
  6. *Nippies Self Adhesive Silicone Nipple covers*

  7. Foot Petals - they were made for new shoe problems, the slippery, slick sole issues etc.
  8. Double-Stick Tape (add some Gaffer as well)
  9.  - it just holds everything where it should

  10. Static Guard  - naturally needed
  11. Hole Puncher - Belts and slingbacks just always seem to need an additional hole
  12. Binder, Paper clips
  13. Jewelry shine cloth
  14. Shout wipes, baby wipes, anti bacterial wipes
  15. Of course, I also have a wide array of feminine necessities and a bottle of baby aspirins just in case!

**Champagne and chocolate raisins. I drink maybe once every three or four months, but when I do a glass of bubbly is always in good regulation.** xxoo

I'd like Iro to make more of an effort to hire at the very least two or three models of colour. How wonderful would it have been to see a different ethnicity in the all white ensemble?

Unfortunately, the lack of diversity has forced me to cut off the heads of the models in this segment.

Back to the presentation, there were some nicely done seasonal trends. For Fall, statement pieces included motorcycle jackets with a curve of a ruffle in back (a detail that also runs down the calf on faux leather leggings and boots); I really kept thinking about Crown Atelier the entire time.  A cool separate was the crackled silver shearling perfection with a black fur collar; and cozy leather-belted gray overcoats (essential for covering up their new light-as-air wrap dresses, ’70s-style peasant dresses, the black devoré velvet number with gold flecks known in-house as "the open dress," or this season’s inevitable bodysuit). I really did like every piece, I just need to see different kinds of models being involved in future shows and look-books!!!!!!

Yes, I intentionally repeated one of the looks because that grey coat is spectacular.

Vogue says there's one thing you can trust with Karl Lagerfeld and that is his preternatural ability to put his finger on topics du jour.

I think he puts his finger on individuals that are dope and it usually materializes in an influence on his collections. In this case Karl is obsessed with Pharell Williams. Pharell is a space nerd. The assembly was in the Grand Palais and the audience saw a giant space rocket in front of them and that was the show.

Blasting off from earth into the unknown seems like a great idea considering the political era we are in! Lagerfeld took us forward to Chanel universe; the crew wearing glittery lunar boots with black tips, tweed tunics with standaway collars, Bermuda shorts, "insulated" silver leather suits, and metallic padded space stoles. It was simply beautiful and as a hydraulic  spectacle, the starship Chanel really did start to take off.
