Elie Saab represents opulence and this season is nothing short of the excess and luxury we’ve come to expect. The visual culture of the show was that of Mexican tradition, treading carefully and hoping it will not be received or misconstrued as appropriation - it appeared to face a mix of both Europe and imperial Mexico combined. The dresses were dipped in embroideries, florals, pearls and delicately framed frills. The effect was stunning. The show was an ostentatiously lavish...

Sissinghurst Castle by Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson is deemed one of the most romantic places in England and Claire Waight Keller, the Artistic Director behind Givenchy is obsessed. Just as she is, we are equally enthralled in particular with the assemblage of old garden roses and the setting of this fantasy garden. Claire has produced what many described as a poetic collection that lovingly included tailoring, summer-garden colors and ruffled petal-forms of dresses to fantasize about. It obviously was a well-deserved love letter to the master, Hubert de Givenchy. Waight Keller pulled ideas from the Givenchy 1950s archive and we saw...

Simon Porte Jacquemus showed the most magnanimous show last summer. We can all agree at least on that! So this season some of us where left with. WHAT IS THISSSS? The internet-breaking success of the summer show in a lavender field in Provence is still revered; the fame of that beautiful event, with its incredible fuchsia runway, gathered about 2 million followers to his Instagram. Which let’s face it is all that matters. What has changed this season? Jacquemus decided that his views must wholly serve this generation and so he created looks that combined creativity with commercialism. He said “I am...

There was a time when you had to be invited to New York Fashion Week or find some clever way to get yourself in attendance at the well sought after shows/events. Some say it was a privilege. Technically, Fashion Week existed to serve those working in the fashion industry—buyers looking for new merchandise for their stores, magazine editors reporting on the trends, stylists pulling for their clients’ next big red carpet, and so on. But with every passing year, its audience grows wider. Through live-stream videos and Instagram Stories and other social sharing, there are more eyes on the shows than...

Erdem Moralioglu’s lookbook, with its eccentric “twinning” of models is the best visuals we’ve seen all year. The floral prints, billowy sleeves, and head-wraps all make up this intricate interim collection. The oversize bows, printed tights to match dresses, and the most wonderful polka dots are the delicate holiday dresses which reminds me of my paradise childhood dreams....

Stephen Wong and Kirk Pickersgill used their Jamaican roots to create their resort 2020 collection. To try to articulate this show with words  will not do it justice. It is truly a revival of vibrancy, each piece livelier and more colorful than the last. It is structured, unstructured, voluminous and ruffled. Pure joy to see the offerings, to see the BOLD MAGIC!...

Michael Kors Resort 2020 collection includes black. Groundbreaking:). Resort has never looked like this, but I love it. Besides that, this is a mult-layered collection which certainly could not be described as basic, the pieces clearly can be worn in nearly all seasons. These are ‘urbane’ clothes mixing embellishments, polka-dots, and ruffles. The stand out is that the tailoring is impeccable as usual and equally important is that this season (aside from the one piece swimsuit) is absolutely a beautiful mix of...

Robyn Rihanna Fenty moves to London?! We love it. Apparently for the last year she’s been working on this new line. As the CEO and artistic director, Rihanna will make history as the first black woman to head an LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) brand. Her power and Instagram influence will probably be the key to her brand,  Fenty’s success. For those of us who follow her on social media we would’ve seen some of the clothes as she’s been wearing select pieces. The salmon pink suit with coordinating fanny pack is what we all want. The only way forward is for...
