23 Jan Elie Saab | couture 2020
Elie Saab represents opulence and this season is nothing short of the excess and luxury we’ve come to expect.
The visual culture of the show was that of Mexican tradition, treading carefully and hoping it will not be received or misconstrued as appropriation – it appeared to face a mix of both Europe and imperial Mexico combined.
The dresses were dipped in embroideries, florals, pearls and delicately framed frills. The effect was stunning.
The show was an ostentatiously lavish overload, a series of beautifully sculpted silk gowns presented only for classic, welcomingly old, glamour and of course theatrical presence. Beautiful, diverse show.
