22 Jan GIVENCHY | Spring 2020 Couture Collection – DETAILS
Sissinghurst Castle by Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson is deemed one of the most romantic places in England and Claire Waight Keller, the Artistic Director behind Givenchy is obsessed. Just as she is, we are equally enthralled in particular with the assemblage of old garden roses and the setting of this fantasy garden.
Claire has produced what many described as a poetic collection that lovingly included tailoring, summer-garden colors and ruffled petal-forms of dresses to fantasize about. It obviously was a well-deserved love letter to the master, Hubert de Givenchy.
Waight Keller pulled ideas from the Givenchy 1950s archive and we saw that in particular with the rounded cloche shapes that were developed for the umbrella hats to die for.
With all of that it was the diversity on the runway that sealed in the promise of beauty, love and much MORE.
