Change in the fashion industry is seldom, however reflecting the times we have seen an increase in racial diversity (however small) within the last year. The desire to discover African brands has never been so needed and is absolutely our biggest thrill. This is now an easy task particularly with social tools such as Instagram.

Tongoro is from Senegal and was created by the talented beauty, Sarah Diouf. She is a Paris-born and Cote d’Ivoire-raised creative and she founded  her brand in 2016 in Dakar. She started Tongoro knowing that she wanted to empower local artisans while celebrating her African being through prints and fabrics. The aesthetics are bold, graphic and vivid. These are the billowing jumpsuits and dramatic dresses we can wear for every occasion. Sarah has said that the brand is “Africa forward” and we fully agree.
